Just finished this unique foot stool. Saw a picture on Pinterest an thought it would be a great little project to do, well it was an adventure. If you decide to make one yourself make sure that all pieces are the same thickness( per side), it will save a hole lot of sanding later. When finishing make sure you seal the end grain also , I did a poor job and the finish turned out with streaks and some “dry looking spots”, going to refinish it at some point. Types of wood among others include maple, walnut, Myrtle, Purple Heart, tiger wood, cherry, pine, oak. Probably others that I don’t remember. The size is about 15” square plus the legs.

Cool idea! Look heavy though.

May try something like this for a shop stool. I was think of using scraps in a similar way and then doing a 45 degree cut and turn for a waterfall appearance.

I remember seeing a video once where a guy did something like this for an end table or night stand. Pretty cool way to use up some scraps.
Nice work.

That is a really outstanding project!
The top looks like a quilt and the colors are beautiful.
