Our home is built based on FLW Prarie Style. I chose to trim the windows out so the builder wrapped them in drywall. The big window over 14ft so I used walnut to extend the oak as I could not get a long enough board. I then used walnut to create what I call buckles to tie it together. While overall it works I am not sure I am happy with the header. But it is staying.

The stone column I added the base and top.
