Furniture cabinet I built for my aunt. Sassafras wood that she finished with a coffee ground rub and clear topcoat. The first pic shows it unfinished, the second shows how well the coffee grounds brought out the grain. She swore she’d never finish another piece of furniture after this…!

Nice cabinet. I never realized that sassafras looked so much like oak. Cool project.

Thanks for the compliment. It smells WONDERFUL when you’re cutting it too!

Nice cabinet. Tell Aunt Debbie I’ll do all her finishing from here on, if she does all my sanding :) so after she got past the finishing does she like it?

Thanks for posting.

I doubt she’ll do either! I asked her about it recently and she said she still loves it.

Have your say...
