Cedar and Brazilian Cherry small hope chest

My first project post! Thank you Rich for encouraging me to finally post one!I built this about four years ago. The leather banding & tray straps are pig skin. The panels and tray bottom are Brazilian Cherry that my dad had in his garage for about forty years so it already looked old and weathered. For that matter, so is the cedar.

Thank you. If anyone decides to do edge banding like this I found that using adhesive to hem the material before applying it provided nice, finished edges and a seam/fold that helped align it on the edge of the wood. The hems were captured by the dome head nails so they would never come loose. It meant using more material but it was the only way to make it look right IMO. The same principle applies to using the rivets on the tray handles.
