Howdy from South Texas,
It’s been months since I’ve added any new projects. I am a fishing guide in the bays here on the coast and contacted a Vibro virus while wade fishing. I almost lost my leg, but thank God, they removed the bad flesh before it got that far. I’ve spent months with healing and skin graphs, but as you can see I’m back in the shop.
I made this desk for myself. It is out of Tiger Maple and I used Jacobean stain with 3 coats of Urethane for the finish.
I had 3 spots in the wood that refused to take the stain. I couldn’t figure out why?
Enjoy.

Talk about bad luck! Glad to hear you are better, specially after looking at that beautiful desk.
About the stain problem, woods like that are telling you please don’t stain me! :)

Beautiful desk. Stain or not, I like the color and striping you achieved so it looks great.
