Yew Bowls finished with Salad Bowl Finish. The first is 4.4” diameter X 2.4”. The second is 6.6” diameter X 1.7”. One finished last year, one this month. I have a few more rough turned bowls from this wood, maybe I’ll get to them next year.

Doesn’t look like the Yew I got from Langsdale? Mine is sort of pinkish purple if I remember correct, haven’t look at the boards in a few years? Sorry didn’t stop by but Tony wouldn’t let us get away.
Have to agree with Jim that grain is fantastic!

Bowls look great John. Don’t do them all at once, save some for next year. LOL.

Thanks guys. Andre, this is the only piece of Yew I’ve had. I roughed out a few bowls and made a tool handle out of it so far. No colours in it, just a bit of spalting. It’s nice to work with, not too hard or too soft.

Well done, I have never seen any yew wood, they say it is found on the coast, I am to far inland, s logger friend brought me a couple blocks of yellow cedar that I will try soon.
