I had a nice piece of spalted birch. I like making goblets because they are slightly more difficult than bowls. I turned the goblet down to a 3/8 diameter stem and the top and bottom are both about 2 and 5/8 inches in diameter. The bottom is about an eighth of an inch thick. I applied many coats of salad bowl finish to make it shine.
