I have just finished this fine model of a Mack Truck from Gatto Plans.
The main timber is New Zealand Kauri, the front guards (fenders) are dark Walnut. The dark timber on the dump box is Australian Jarra. The chassis is oak and the front and rear bumpers, wheel rims, lights, mirrors are from Holly.
The Holly was cut from a large tree, allowed to air dry and machined by me. I now have enough Holly to last me out.
Tyres are once again ebonized Mahogany.
The finish is Tung Oil.
The front wheels are steerable, dump box has a trap door opening as well as the whole tail gate opens.

Thanks for looking.

Welcome back PJ... was wondering if the humble kiwi suffered the same fate as the dodo!

No need to say great job… but I will… great job. Now all we need is more happy snaps of the build or has Jacinda put a new tax on camera film to pay for baby formula…

As always one of a high standard. This model is also great on the bottom side. Great wood combination. I like the motor as well. Well done Peter.

Great job on the gatto plan truck!!!
I had gotten those plans when I first started building models back about 4 years ago and have used the ideas from them in just about every truck I’ve built.
Those plans have tons of details.
One more time beautiful project!
