My 1st attempt at a marionette.

I made the skull first, then based the rest of the dimensions off of that. If some forensic anthropologist were to flesh this out, he be fugly.

Mostly dado joints and some dowels. The ribs didn’t get glued in until almost the end. I cut them down 2 more times trying to get the size right.

I made the controller look like it’s made of bones. The top bar is held on with magnets, for easy removal. I planned on using clear fishing line instead of string, but this is good. I can see them better, that might help me keep them from getting tangled. I said might, it’s still a theory.

At first I used the top bar for the arms, changed to the legs, and finally back to the arms.

I did not glue in the cane.

Aspen. 16” tall x 6” wide. Acrylic paints and rattle can lacquer.

That’s pretty cool!
We need a little video so we can see how he/she moves.

Nice work, Hairy! I agree that a movie of him dancing would be great!

Nice job hairy. I love me some whimsy, and that sure qualifies.

Thanks for posting.
