This relief carving demonstrates that it is actually possible to carve an impossible figure in relief. If all the corners in this figure were 90 degrees the design would be impossible. Study the planes around the six tiny open triangles.

Interesting project, but I expect that visitors to your home may develop a bit of eyestrain staring at this one.
