A bank for the new grandson. Since I had done other banks for my other grandchildren my daughter asked what it was going to look like. I said a bank. She said no, what’s it going to look like. And I responded, a bank. She got mad after that. :-)

Black walnut. The front columns I turned on the lath. The sides I engraved with my cnc. The top roof slats is a flat board that I passed over a 1/2 inch dado blade tilted 15 degrees. Moved the fence out in 1/2 inch increments. The doors and slot medallion I had from a previous purchase. It’s getting hard to find the eagle doors with a combo lock on them.

Two coats of watco Danish natural, then 6 coats of 50-50 thinned semi gloss poly with a rub down with 0000 steel wool between. Nice soft patina with no built up look poly usually has.
