Really, it is a bowl

but it could well be a lamp shade had I not plugged the hole and if I had a lamp to fit. It’s a relatively small bowl in that it’s only 3” high with an 8” diameter.
I treid to get the pictures to show the wood and resin colors but I do a lot better with saw dust than I do with a camera.
I made this bowl using cherry and light walnut. With the cherry I incorporated a very lightly colored copper resin and with the walnut, resin that had just a hint of silver metalic.
Looking closely at the silver, you can see what appears to be mother of pearl flakes and in the copper almost the same effect.
Just because I could, I turned the bowl over and played with an LED module which has almost got me convinced to start with lamp shades.
Enjoy and help me out with ideas.

and here’s another trying to show the resin colors

Thanks for looking

It’s really beautiful. Looks difficult to make. A turning triumph to be sure! Great work.

Wow – you are on to something there! I think these would sell like hotcakes as lampshades! Super cool – and I think would give a warm ambiance as a lamp. Of course, also beautiful as a bowl, too!!

Excellent. Great out of the box thinking. You may have to explain how you incorporate the resin.

Thanks Kim
I just don’t have the talent to turn a lamp but I may get lucky and find something
