I named it this because I felt it looked alive like it was going to take off running on its own. What happened is I had alot of small pieces of wood laying around and needed to do something with all these small pieces. This table is made of walnut, curly maple, ash, and birch. Cool part is the spindle is turned from a walnut tree I cut down earlier this year. I like the sap wood accents are nice since the walnut thats store bought is just heart wood for the most part. The sap wood I felt brings the lighter colored woods in this project together.

I love all the different woods – somehow they work together! And you are correct – the sap wood in walnut is, in my opinion, the nicest part of the tree! I use it for accent pieces every chance I get.

I would have made the top a bit less “boxy”, but to each his own. Looks great!

I agree that’s why I gave it a funny name. The demisions came out of my head. But I will say the pictures make it look alot bigger than it is. The diameter is 12 inches and height 24 inches. So it looks different in real life.

hahaha, it’s an odd-looking little table, but I like it!
