Doctor Who - Frame and Box

I’m lumping these together because they were both “firsts.” My first box and my first picture frame. And, they were both Doctor Who-inspired.

The frame was made from two pieces of poplar, routed and then glued together and stained with that combo stain and poly in walnut. A few coats to get the color. Plus a black metal-flake spray paint for the two insets that run all the way around. This looks really sharp hanging in my office.

The box was almost flung against the garage wall. I didn’t have a box clamp at the time so I was having a hard time clamping the mitered corners. So, I added the splines to overcome that. This looks great…from a distance…in poor lighting. The three Doctor Who characters at least now have a home. It was poplar, with purpleheart for the splines and honestly, i don’t remember what I used to stain it.

Cool – the wood projects and the contents.

So do the people entering your office know that resistance is futile? Or do you have a hidden button to active a laser to exterminate the ones you don’t like? LOL

Thanks for posting.

I used to watch Dr. Who but our stations are not showing it anymore.
I always like Dr. Who (Tom Baker) and want to make a Tardis model some time.
The Dalek, even when framed, is menacing.
Nice work.

So many times I’ve considered building a TARDIS. But where to put it?

christherookie, dont put it anywhere, you can put everything inside the Tardis and have lots of room to spare!

So if I build the TARDIS in my garage and move all my tools inside, I’d have a bigger workshop! WOO HOO!
