This is a prayer kneeler I made for our church auction! Made of solid walnut. Finished with Deft spray lacquer. Mix of traditional and modern joinery. A combination of power and hand tools!

Thanks to those who helped me make a decision on what to use for a finish – it was a bit of a rush job – but it came out beautiful. The finish is glass smooth!

Looks real good, glad the finish works for you, just curious, design looks like it may be top heavy, perhaps tippy unless kneeling pad down?

Its a compact design. These are meant to be in someone’s bedroom (or living room), pushed up against the wall and out of the way when not in use. When ready to be used, the kneeler can be folded down. Its actually quite sturdy even with the kneeler folded up. I probably wouldn’t want it on a shag carpet or something like that though.

Glad the lacquer worked out well! Nice job. I’m actually helping my cousin build a kneeler almost exactly the same as this. Hope his turns out as well as yours!

Keep on turning out that good work!

Good work, glad to see a non-white knee pad! Don’t need anybody getting nailed with the old baby powder on the tux knees trick!
