i rather like when a customer gives me some free reign over how a project is to be. this one, she wanted a “basic box” for blankets with the requirement being the top have a look like a table top in a show she follows. i dont do “basic” too good. since shes a native michigander living out east, i decided to use all wood cut and processed in michigan. the top is walnut,hickory, and maple while the frame for the box is birch. the panels are contre-plaquĆ©. thats just playwood in french, but i felt this is too elegant to call it plywood. wasnt grown here but i did purchase the contre-plaquĆ© in michigan so close enough.
