I copied this carocel from an old toy a friend brought to me and asked if I could make one or two for his grandchildren. I enjoyed it so much, I made four more after the first one. Stack cutting saved time. They’re made from pine. I am curious about the origin of the toy. A friend told me her uncle made one when she was a child, but she didn’t know where he got the idea. Can someone provide information as to the origin?

Nice work…I’m real fan of wooden toys.

The carousel spins forward and the cords wrap around the center dowel. It stops and spins back. It goes back and forth many times. I tried to post a video, but I couldn’t get it formatted and the file was too big.

Thanks for the compliments.
