My friends asked me to build a 40cm x 40cm corner shelf three days before they were leaving back home in Australia (hence metric dimensions :-). I did accept the challenge (working about one hour a day for the next three days), and tried my new beading router bit I have just got on sale in local Sears.

I used birch and birch plywood, finished with cognac stain and two layers of spray-can shellac.

It turned out well – though I would prefer more sturdy poly or lacquer as a finish.

Interesting piece. Something to hang for a phone desk? Hoping your shops version of a 90* corner matches what their house has. Would be to nice to hang with huge gaps.

Thanks for posting.

Thank you. It’s for these two icons. They have put it on the wall, and luckily, their house’s corner is pretty close to 90 degrees :-)
