This relief carving is based on a woodcut done by Escher in 1947. It shows a strange bird-like object in an archway from three different viewpoints and an equally strange lunar landscape in the background. The carving is basswood, 12” x 15”, sealed and selectively stained, some stain scraped away to reveal space objects.

I really like this because I like Escher.
His art has always intrigued me.
Being an engineer and looking at things logically, his stairway ones always drove me crazy
You did a nice job on your rendition of his work.
