This is a relief carving – 12” x 15” basswood – of my own design. The grandfather clock has an antique pocket watch inset from the back. Also in the room is a pedestal table with flower arrangement, a cat on the window sill, and a sleeping dog. The view out the window includes trees and hills beyond. The watch is removable for winding. Notice that the flower arrangement overhangs the frame, but the table does not!

That’s quite impressive.
My Moma had a table like that.
How thick/deep is this?
Painted, inked, dyed?
Delightful!

Thanks. The wood is 1-1/4 inches thick and carved to a depth of 3/4”. The carving was sealed and then gel stain was wiped into areas to be emphasized.

That is just plain beautiful!
The watch/pocket is a brilliant idea.
How long did this one take?
