I never had a plan, but I started making sawdust.

I took a bunch of scraps and made a panel, but I didn’t have a plan for it. I thought it might make a cool looking top for a box, so this is what I came up with. I never had a plan, I just kept adding to the box until I liked it. I’m sure that’s not the preferred method.

I totally DISAGREE!

Many of my best things start without any plan and receive many changes on the building as I go along! I have taken pieces, fitted them, THEN taken them back and re-sawed some of them or just started over, making new pieces to replace them, because I did NOT like what they looked like.

I really like that “wood Rescue” example too!

Preferred method ? Are you in a machine shop or a wood shop ?

This particular project came out just as one would expect – EXCELLENT

We don’t need no stink-in plans. Nice job.

Interesting lid there. Hmmmmm wondering how planning would have made it less interesting. Not sure it could have, so I guess you are good.

Thanks for posting.

Thanks guys. I see so many projects that use sketch-up to design their piece, I thought most people do it that way. I do more than I’d like to admit without plans. I’m sure that’s why it takes me 2 or 3 times longer than it probably should.
