This is a cedar box that I made for my daughters 11th birthday, the box is my first real project that I would call square( somewhat) I make the little finger rings or canes, but I don`t do boxes or such but after making this, I like it and may try more. The joints (if that is what you call them) are just drawn by hand cut by scroll saw and filed to fit. Nothing fancy just did what I thought of at the time. There not perfect but I think it turned out ok. The flower and name are burnt in (again by hand) the little heart necklace is Walnut and Cedar it was glued up to be a ring, but this is what came out of it. She really loved them and that is all that matters to me. Thank you for looking.

Very nice! I’m sure she loves it. I’m made a few boxes for my daughter and she always loves them. I may have to try burning images sometime.

The necklace looks cool also!

My family seems to like what I make for them as well. Even if it’s not master craftmanship it’s from the heart and that is worth allot more. Great job, can’t beat red cedar!!!

Hi! Dad if you see this, yes it is me. I joined just so I could comment on this post! (I still want that totem pole too….) I love the necklace, I wear it to school often, it draws a croud! And the box, I use that EVERY DAY! I love those two things both. Thank you so much!!! Bye Bye!

Have your say...
