A while back I was at the mill and picked up this #1 grade walnut cheap with the intent of turning it into a cutting board. As time went by I lost interest in that project and moved on to other things. A week ago my sister-in-law hinted she wanted a cutting board for Christmas, so I knew exactly what to do. I dug out the wood and started to cut out all the imperfections. I ended up with this. I think she will like it. Finished with mineral oil.

Sometimes the inclusion of sapwood really pays off, as it has here.
Great job aligning it into this most interesting pattern.
