So this case has a lot of meaning to it. My grandfather recently passed away and my dad asked me to make his military flag display case. My grandpa was a woodworker as well and I grew up watching him. He passed down some wood and tools to me, and so I used all I could from him to make this flag case. I only had one board of walnut, so I was terrified to mess it up! To cut the 22.5 degree cuts, I ended up taking six hours to make a jig that cut the pieces in 20 seconds…. shesh. The things we do!

In the end, I think it turned out quite well. My dad was very pleased and even got a few tears out of it. I hope all of you enjoy it and maybe get a few ideas on how to do your display case.

Really nice job and your grandfather would be proud that you put to use all he thought… I too lost a uncle that was a serviceman and I want to do the same

This is a beautiful flag case and will be a great memorial of your grandfather and I’m sure that your father and other family members will cherish it.
