Well, here is the final posting of my Amur cherry cowboy boot project. It took some doing but I got the boots carved and ready for delivery! YAAAAAAHOOOOO!!!
When you go back to the first post you will see a complicated looking stump of Amur cherry. This pair came from the same stump, with boot blanks cut from opposite sides of the tree. The variation can be attributed to the fact that there were several main branches coming out of this trunk. This shows up in the confusing grain pattern and depth of colour. Since this pair is a wedding gift for a young couple, each will claim their own boot and yet they are a pair.
