Quick Box for a Birthday Ring

My niece asked for a multi-colored ring, so after finishing the ring, I turned a little box to go with it.

The ring is walnut burl, Japanese sen, and ebony. The box is from a random chunk of red oak, while the lid is purpleheart.

I’ve only turned two bowls before this, so I’m pretty pleased with how a spur of the moment little project turned out!

Great box – you won’t find anything better in a jewelry store – I know, I used to work in one. The ring is great also – might not be gold or gemstones but it was made with love. Your niece is a lucky girl. Thanks for sharing.

Great box and great ring – really like them both and I’m sure your niece will too! Very nice work.

This is a fine looking box and the wood looks so nice. It’s also a wonderful design.

Thanks so much for the kind words! I’m going to have to turn more purpleheart, because it is flat out gorgeous!

I’ve added a couple addition pictures as well.
