Two boxes made for friends. Both have maple tops that were had carved with hidden latches. The first (Harry Potter inspired) is made of cherry with wood burning decoration. The second is western Red Cedar. Both are felt lined. Each box has splined corners.

Can you take a picture that shows the texture of the top? It looks interesting, but I can’t see enough detail to understand it. I just made a small box (will post it shortly. Surprisingly difficult to do, for such a small project! I like your hidden hinges – I had a heck of a time installing the butt hinges on my recent build. Never having done it before didn’t help…

Surprisingly difficult to do, for such a small project! I like your hidden hinges – I had a heck of a time installing the butt hinges on my recent build. Never having done it before didn t help…
