This was my first attempt at a brick or subway tile pattern cutting board. It was made from hard maple and granadillo; it measured out at 16” x 21” with the “bricks” measuring out to about 1 3/4” x 3 1/4” x 1 1/2” thick. Once the juice groove and handles were cut, the board sat in a bath of mineral oil for about 24 hours, flipping about every four to six hours. The new owners, some good friends of ours, were ecstatic to say the least and all I asked of them was a picture back of the board in action. The action shot includes moose sausage, cheese, and wine from Homer, AK and while this was just the beginning, I know there will be many more meals enjoyed with this board!

Awesome pattern – In my eyes brick wall pattern can’t turn bad.
