April, 2018 – At this year’s Woodworking Show in Tampa I bought the Dovetail Wiz system. This is my 2nd project to practice. It’s a small pine box made from ordinary reclaimed lumber. I put some sidewalk chalk inside and gifted it to a woodworking friend. Chalk is useful to workworkers for marking pieces during construction.

The Dovetail Wiz comes with a handy DVD, which I watched twice: Once before I used the jig, and again after my first project didn’t turn out so well. LOL!! There are a few subtle tricks that make a world of difference in the final results.

On this box I painted the inside black and the underside orange. The pine is stained with a gel-stain, and then topped with some water-based poly.

I to bought a dovetail Wiz, mine at the Indianapolis Woodworking show. Haven’t used it yet, but looking forward to giving it a try. I just hope I get as good of results as you did. Great job on that Pine box. Thanks for inspiring

Nice work. I have seen this system but never bought it. Maybe one day.

I like working with pine, but to be honest machine made Dovetails do not interest me.
