Needed an Umbrella stand, moveable was on the list. Cut the round base with a router circle jig. I had to raise the umbrella about 8” as most are made for a table. the Wild Turkey Bourbon barrel is about 35” high 21” round. I used 1” black pipe, a flange at the base and 8” section with coupling to raise the mast and added 12” pipe for stability. The top hole is 1 3/4” and the bottom 2 1/2” with a 1/4 in recess to allow flush mounting to the bottom of the barrel. Four 3” swivel casters with a brake from Home Depot.

Nice work on this umbrella stand. The barrel worked quite nicely.

nice use of a barrel, there is just so many things you can make with used barrels.ive got one i need to post that i made into a coffee table with a top that lifts up so you can eat at the couch.looks like you put some heavy duty casters on that one, should last a lifetime.nice job.

I was reading about the shop stool you just posted then had to come here to take a look at the umberella barrell.
Great idea and well done.
Looks tops.
If only I could get my hands on a bourbon barrel.
