I had made a mount for my Garmin a while back, but I can’t find the project. I did find one
( http://lumberjocks.com/projects/75156 ) by luv2learn( Lee) that is just like what I dreamed up- great minds think alike, I guess!!

I have a cup holder that comes out of the dash in my Outback and the holder I previously made did not work out because the rubber suction cup would release after a while and drop the Garmin on the floor. So I made a walnut cup shaped piece, modified the GPS mount and screwed and doweled the GPS to it and it drops in like a cup. It is easy in and out now.
It is finished with clear lacquer.

Cheers, Jim

Great thinking, now I’ve got cup holder envy, mine’s on my center console between the seats :-(

You must me loosing it again Jim. You have so many projects going, it’s got you crazy.
I like this one much better. Less conspicuousness and easy in and out. Suction cups suck.

Nicely done Jim. Now the Garmin is not so conspicuous.

Thank you all for the nice comments. I came back from Illinois Tues night and thought about a slick way to do that all the way home. ( sounds like the song” just got home from Illinois…”)

Hi Jerry, make a cup base with a long stick in the middle and put the Garmin on top of!! it!!

Hi Dave. You found the old project!!..Thanks. Now I can use the other side of the double cup holder with it rigged this way.

Hi Lee, you know how nice it is with the one you have. It comes right out to stash in the back seat so someone won’t break the window if they see it! I had another base to cut the suction cup off and still have the original one stuck in the shop!

Cheers, my friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....Jim
