The pattern in the top of this was inspired by “chinese ice” windows.
The box is about 27×16 x 9 cm, and the sides are from a piece of wood
marked “bottlebrush”. When I think of bottlebrush, I get a
mental image of a medium-to-large shrub, but not so large as to get
timber this wide out of ! Maybe it is something else.
Nice in a rustic sort of way though; wish I had more.
The lid is made with some veneers which roughly match the pale-brown
and the reddish colors of the bottlebrush (or whatever).

too many nice features to look at –
the top ‘handle’ is perfect and what looks like sap wood blending to heart wood makes it very attractive/
