The pattern in the top of this was inspired by another chinese window.
I looked at the photo for a long time before recognising that it does repeat.
The box is about 26×15 x 8 cm, and is made from silky-oak scavenged
off the streets of Moorooka: someone demolished their old wardrobe,
and put the pieces out for the garbos to collect. Pic 4: materials on
my garage floor.
I left the old dark-brown stain on the outside.
Under the latticework is a sheet of brass, patinated with ammonia and salt.
The “concept” was to make it aged-looking—an “ancient chinese” box.
The inside is silky-oak’s natural color.

but the inside is GREAT !!
