I make these guys every now and then when i can get the supplies needed. Mostly for wedding presents and gifts. Quite a bit of work goes into fitting a bluetooth speaker in the wood base and properly porting (for air flow) and aligning the horn. The sound coming through the french horn bell is amazing, as it amplifies the bluetooth speaker and fills the room. Sorry no build pics, each one i make is unique dependent upon the speaker and the horn size. Wood is english elm and walnut.

What a fantastic idea. Can you post model and source for the blue tooth speaker?

Simple and creative. I like it. The combination of the brass horn and the wood really lifts it above some of the all-wood versions I’ve seen.

the speakers i’ve been using are: iHome iBT16GC Portable Bluetooth Wireless Speaker
i see that you can actually get them at walmart in the usa
they are inexpensive and decent sounding, but playing through the horn improves sound quality and volume.
need to use a speaker that plays out the front, is easy to fit, and has accessible controls at the back (not bottom).
