My latest effort at the AF Enlisted stripe shadow box. This member had a lot of memorablia to include in the box. Therefore I had to mount the challenge coins on the inside of the door. I know she loved it.

This is awesome work! I do a lot of flag boxes (mostly Marines where I work), but nothing like this. Do you use a template to rout out the stripes? I’d love to know more about how you build these!

I really like this. I’m a retired SMSgt and I would buy one. You should do a construction blog.

Thanks everyone. I really appreciate the kind words. Rod I do use a template. As a matter of fact it takes 3 separate templates to make them. One to cut the star and the window in the door. And two more for the stripes (they alternate). I also use the templates to cut the stripe inlays. closetguy, I may just have to do a blog on the next one.

Pat, very nice work. I too would be interested in seeing a blog on this.

Putting the challenge coins on the inside of the door was an outstanding idea. Great way to utilize space.

I love your shadow boxes. Do you sell them? My husband is retiring in two months and would love to get him one. Thanks, Michelle
