Most recent project, curly oak framed out by walnut. The walnut as a sliver of oak at 12, 3, 6, and 9 and the oak has a sliver of walnut.
Finished with 3 coats of tung oil, then knocked the final sheen off just a bit so there wouldn’t be glare. I wanted to be sure to let those little slivers of wood (about 3/16” wide) show clearly.
Measures 8 1/4” x 8 1/4” x 3/4”.
Thanks for looking!

I think that that design makes a nice looking clock and you did a good job on it.

Nice clock John. We have clock in our kitchen that only has the 12,3,6 and 9 and I stand there for ages trying to work out what time it is. I love the wood and the accents. Is it just butt jointed together or did you use dowels or biscuits?

Thanks, folks.
Brit- This one is butt jointed but I’ll probably have other versions with dowels, I’m a big fan of dowel reinforced joinery.

nice – i like the way the sapwood on the walnut complements the oak. those inlays are clever, too.
