Hi,
This is an octagon bowl with ambrosia maple and a solid walnut top.

The sides are 3+1/4 high. The top sits in the cutout. The top is from a solid walnut piece that is 1+3/4at it’s thickest.

There were a lot of timed and angled cuts. The last pic is before I cut the bevels on the top.

The bottom is 3/8 inch cherry.

The length and width is 7×9 ish.

Thanks

Steve

Great work on those mortices! I really like the way you preserved the grain as it wraps around.

What’s your finish?

I use minwax wipe on gloss poly. It will shine more in a week. It still needs to seep in.

There is a lot of funky Curley in the walnut that will come out as well.

Thanks for the compliment!

Beautiful top and box shape. I like that spalted wood.

Very pretty! Love the wood choices, especially the bottom.
