A friend gave me some pecan logs from his firewood pile, so I turned some into picture frames. First I used a hatchet and sledge to split off some pieces, then I planed a flat side. After that I could use the chop saw to cut out the frames. In photo 4 you see the base that I use to keep things stable. In photo 5 it shows that I use boards on the left and right of the work piece to hold it in place, in addition to a small board that I use to hold it down. Finished with antique linseed oil.

Rescue at it’s finest.

Great job on both the frames and the wood rescue too!
