Red Oak flying saucer

I turned this from a Red Oak tree I milled last year, it’s 6”x3”. The three lines are burning in with an 18 gauge ballast wire. It’s finished with armor seal and wax. My wife says “it’s a keeper”, so I guess that’s a good thing!

Who knew red oak could look that good? I’ve never been much on red oak grain but this looks very nice. I might have to make a guitar wall hanger with some 3/4 red oak I have. Very nice work.
