Basketball chess set by jim arnold, set features a chessboard of a likeness to the Boston Gardens. Pieces are solid walnut and poplar and feature the greats of the Celtics versus the Greats of the rest of the league. A massive chess set…chessboard measures 33” square…kings stand about 11” tall, pawns about 5” tall. Thanks for taking a peek! Jim

What a great idea for a whimsical chess set. You are a master artisan, so creative. I love all of your chess sets. Thanks for inspiring.

Looks like a lot of work! Can you put something next to it for scale? maybe like a coke can or something… ?

Nice job!

All of your sets are amazing-this one is no exception. Larry Bird, Robert Parrish, Bill Russell, Kevin McHale, Dennis Johnson vs. Kareem, Magic, Jordan….very nice.

Thanks for sharing.

How is the game played?

Nice Chess set! I’m a Celtic fan too and a NBA fan from that era too.

Who’s the queens? Looks like coaches maybe?

I would have a hard time figuring out my next move, I’d be to busy checking out the pieces. :)
