Queen-sized bed frame. Posts are non-treated 4×4s, rails are 2×10s Slats to support a 3/4” thick plywood panels
Padded head board has a 1/2” plywood base, with 1” foam, then a Gray fabric stretched and nail in place. Panel sits in a goove all the way around it. 2×4 rails to hold the panel’s top and bottom edges, have tenons on each end that fit into “housed mortises in the posts.
Tops of the posts were bevel at 22-1/2 degrees. Posts and the 2×4 rails have a bead detail on their show sides.
Finish is by Rustoleum, called Weathered Gray…a Stain/ Varnish mix. One heavy coat.
Slats are 1×6 pine, and have a screw on each end to hold them in place.
A LOT of handtool work.
Rails are attached to the posts with a pair of lag screws, with a washer, into a counter-bored hole in the rails.
I think there is a “Build Blog” somewhere about this Project…..thanks for looking in.
