lumber cart

That’s funny. I built a very similar item and my plan is to take it apart this coming weekend. Don’t get me wrong, it worked wonderfully for all that I wanted it to. I just don’t have room for it. I’m going to try and recycle the parts to make it an upright sheet goods rack and to put clamp storage on one side and cut-offs on the other. I worry a littl about it becoming too top heavy, but I’m just plain out of space in my 1/2 of the garage (-: I like your though. I think it will hold every bit as much as mine which I estimate to have been over 1000 lbs for a while and still mobile.

I’m pretty sure your’s is one of the ones I looked at before building mine. I know how you feel though. My basement shop is 25×50’ and I’m still short on space. Trying to maximize space is a never ending battle.

well that is flattering.

My theory was that whenever I wanted to work in the garage, I’d pull my wife’s car out and push the rack over from it’s space in front of my workbench and in front of the mobile tools lining the wall.

I didn’t really think of how often I go in there with smaller aspirations than to make serious sawdust.

I’m not kidding when I say that if I had even one extra parking space worth of additional room, this would have been my best shop project by far. Oh well. Live and learn I guess.

Wish I had room for that! It seems wonderful to be so organized.
