First try at shou sugi ban. We had an old patio table with a plastic top that had broken. The steel frame was still in good shape so I stripped it of the old stuff and installed these pine planks. Tiger torch made quick work of the burning. After it was brushed with a wire brush I added a coat of pure tung oil and after it cured three coats of exterior WB poly. I’m curious to see how it holds up to our harsh Saskatchewan winters.

Nice work on the table. I wonder about WB poly out doors. Keep us posted on its durability. I have always used Helmsman UV resistant poly outdoors and it seems to hold up okay.

Cheers, Jim
