After 30 years my wife Laura is retiring from being a Special Education Teacher to young children with disabilities. She asked me to make gifts for her aids and those who have supported her along the way. This is what I came up with, Kleenex boxes that Boxguy so graciously designed and worked with me to build, and pens turned on my lathe. My wife was a wonderful teacher.

Joe, the pens are beautiful, and you put a wonderful finish on the Kleenex covers. There is a lot of work on display in just one picture. LJs will know that this represents hours and hours of work on your part. Thirty pens and five Kleenex covers would take weeks if not months of work. Thanks for sharing this with us.

You said Laura “was” a wonderful Special Ed teacher (and she did a wonderful job in the classroom). She still “is” teaching Special Ed, she just has a smaller class…in fact a class of only one. Good luck to Laura. My wife has been working on me for 48 years with only meager results.

Keep boxing and keep posting!

I am sure that those gifts will be appreciated but some special kids are going to miss a special teacher.

Very nice Joe. Your wife will be proud to give these to the very special people she has worked with.
