Spalted Ca. Coastal Live Oak Coffee Table

This piece was taken from a Ca. Coastal Live Oak tree that was taken down because it had been dying for the last 10 years. After cutting into it I found out that it was heavily spalted , which was really exciting . I had no idea that the colors would be noticeably darker, it changes the look so differently from some of the other trees that I’ve had to work with because of being blown down in wind storms. Here are a few pictures to completion.
