Scored about 3/4×6x5’ of birds eye maple from the local HD store. Not bad for 15 bucks. The keys are bubinga. I still can’t get the keys perfect. I need more practice.

Thanks for looking! Matt.

Roughly 2 coats of tung oil, 7 coats of danish oil and paste wax.

The bird’s eye maple looks great! I have some that I am looking for the right project for – this could be it.

BigTiny- Army type. :p I tried to join the Army straight out of high school and they wouldn’t let me so I’m not to happy with that.
sras- I had the board for about four months before I decided to make a frame. It was a great choice!

Someone recently threw out a futon frame near my house. All maple, or maybe beech. Stopped the car, threw it in the back and took it home. Haven’t decide what to make with it yet but I might make about 20 frames for starters. People around here go crazy for craft sale type stuff. Great idea to use the keys. What do you think would make a good key, walnut or cherry?
