I was getting ready for a Artist of the month show at my Athletic Club where I have the month of October. Started with the chopping blocks which came out good and then I stated to book match my burls and I call it book match art. This is an oak burl bordered with a bubinga frame and finished it with Linseed oil. I have a welding rod holding the oak book match up.
It is hard to see in the picture but when I look at it I see a figure reaching out. That is way I named it “Reaching Out” The pic makes it look like a monster or something but when you see it in person it is quite angelic. I just added the last pic. It came out better to see the image.

Before I read your story, I noticed the figure in your artistic project. This is the difference between craft and art. You may have a good chance in the compitition. Good luck. Let’s know.
