But not just any box…
This one is made from New Guinea Rosewood and the top is bookmatched with a stripe of Silver Ash down the centre… the accent dovetail splines were effected using the Kehoe Jig and Purple Heart… I adjusted the spacing to account for the kerf when cutting the top off..

The tray inside is Purple Heart with a Camphor base.. While the inside is not quite finished… I am still deciding on a color of the felt lining… I figure it is good enough to post…
Spray finish… now I have the new Earlex out.. might as well..

Larry, this is a gorgeous box and the bookmatched lid adds a nice element to it as well.

Nice box, Larry. The Kehoe jig is a really useful device imho. Glad that you have one and have put it to use. I was working with mine this afternoon to set it up to do exactly the same thing you did on your box!

That NGR is some pretty lumber!! Lets see, you dovetailed the sides, then mitered them? Nice job!!

As others have said “nice box”. I haven’t seen that type of wood in my local hardwood store. It is very nice looking. Did you find that in your scrap wood pile? I like the hinges too. They look good on the outside of the box. I see you couldn’t resist a little PurpleHeart on the inside.

That is some wonderful timber, Larry.

(See… I’m learning Australian…. I called it timber!)
