This is a kitchen island I made with some leftover cherry and ash wood mixed with a little SPF from my local big box store. I used Minwax golden pecan to give the ash a little color and then added one coat of poly after which I took a cabaret gel stain(which is what I stained the cherry with((the cherry was very very ugly and that was my first time buying wood that wasnt from home depot so 200BF of cherry ended up being very little usable material for big furniture which I enjoy making))and covered the ash in it and immediately wiped it off leaving all of the large open grain filled with the cabaret and the rest golden pecan and then I finished it with 4 coats of spray on poly.

Thanks much Jim, they are kind of hard to see and I didn’t mention them but there are 2 shallow drawers on the front, you can barely see their handles if you look close at the skirt. They aren’t much but easily would make great silverware drawers. Thanks again
