Hello all! I’m alive and still kicking!
Got this swamp willow log from my rancher friend from southern Alberta. Where he ranches you have to be one tough dude! This willow was harvested from land in the shadow of the Canadian Rockies along the US border.
The tree has seen some years and that is visible in the separation of the growth rings of the tree. So the challenge was on and I jumped at it, ‘hook line and sinker’! Lucky for me I had a good supply of glue followed by extreme stubborness, I persevered and up came the old Boot!
While taking the pictures, the extra log in the photo posed another challenge – a face of the old man in the tree! I was mesmerized and you Ljers will have to stick around and see the face come to fruition!

Regards to all,

The Bootman

Here’s lookin’ at ya!
